Dermal fillers are substances that are injected just below the surface of the skin to fill in lines, wrinkles and scars. Unlike facelifts that stretch the skin, fillers add volume for a more natural youthful appearance. Fillers can also increase the fullness of the lips and lessen the downward slant of the corner of lips. The most common areas treated are the smile lines around the nose and mouth, fine lines above the mouth, frown lines between the eyes, loss of volume around the eye and cheek area, and acne scars. We use Restylane, Juvederm® XC, or Juvederm®, depending on your individual needs.

Procedure description

Injections take only a few moments per site and a few minutes for a course of treatment. Following injection, any markings will be cleansed. Makeup may be carefully re-applied so long as care is taken not to apply pressure to the treatment area. Filling wrinkles or recessed scars involves multiple injections. In some cases where deeper injection of fillers is required, a local anesthetic may be used prior to treatment.

Recovery

The results of soft tissue augmentation using injectable fillers are apparent immediately. Although the effects of soft tissue augmentation with injectable fillers are not permanent, results are long lasting.
